Specimen Requirements

Testing is performed on the RBCs. Centrifuge tube as soon as possible and separate the plasma from the cells. Discard the plasma. Using the original collection tube, submit only the RBCs for testing.

Submit one of the following tubes:

Container: green-top (heparin), lavender-top (EDTA), or royal blue-top (EDTA)
