Specimen Type: Plasma. Container/Tube: Green top (lithium heparin) or yellow top, SST (serum), volume: 0.5 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Draw baseline, and 30 minute and 60 minute post dose.

2. Label specimen appropriately (plasma or serum).

Additional Information: Include time of draw on request form.

Ambient

A normal ACTH stimulation test shows a peak value of 20 mg/dL and an increase of serum cortisol of at least 7 mg/dL within 1 hour.
