Reference Values
For men with total PSA between 4.1 and
10.0 ng/mL, a free PSA % decision point
of 25% or less will detect 95% of prostate
cancers by biopsy when the total PSA
between 4.0 and 10.0 ng/mL.
The above decision point of 25% is supported by the fact
that
the probability of prostate cancer is high (56%) when the
free PSA
is 10, and the probability of prostate cancer is low (8%)
when
the free PSA is 25.
