Methodology
RosetteThis test is intended for use in the detection of Rh positive red cells in an Rh-negative mother after delivery.
Note: 1. This test is not performed on Rh-positive patients.
2. Mother must be Rh negative and newborn must be Rh positive.
3. Test must be drawn prior to issuance of Rh immune globulin (RhIG).

Specimen should be drawn from mother as soon as possible after delivery of all products of conception, but not sooner than 1 hour after delivery.
Specimen Type: Blood
Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)
Specimen Volume: Full tube
Collection Instructions: Invert several times to mix blood.
Specimen Transport Temperature
Ambient-If a delay in testing occurs, specimen should be stored at 1° to 8° C.Reference Values
