Vaginal-rectal site.


Use BBL or Copan CultureSwab in liquid Stuart’s medium (Red Cap double swab – LQ Stuart). This is the only acceptable collection device for this test. Following collection, the sample is stable for 24 hours at room temerature and 5 days at 2-8 C.

Specimen Transport Temperature

Ambient up to 24 hours. Refrigerated up to 5 days.

Turnaround time: Up to 2 hours.
