Laboratory provides only a presumptive identification of different species of insects or arachnids.

Laboratory does not definitively identify deer ticks, does not identify ticks as male or female, nor does it test a tick for Borrelia burgdorferi (Lyme disease). Any questions regarding testing of ticks for Lyme disease should be directed to the Oregon Department of Human Services at 971-673-1111.
