Specimen Type: Urine, freshly voided, preferably first-morning voidContainer/Tube: Plastic urine containerSpecimen Volume:1 mLAdditional Information:1. Frozen specimen should be thawed and mixed before testing.2. Specimen exhibiting visible precipitates should be centrifuged, filtered, or allowed to settle to obtain a clear specimen for testing.

Reference Values

Negative results are expected in healthy, non-pregnant women and healthy men. Healthy pregnant women have hCG present in their urine specimens. The amount of hCG will vary greatly with gestational age and between individuals.
