Test Code UAMC Urinalysis with Microscopic Reflex to Urine Culture

Methodology

AUTION MAX AX/IRIS 200 Elite/Manual Method Clinitek 500 and Manual Microscopic Examination of Sediment

Note: 1. #REDS Reducing Substance (Clinitest), Urine must be ordered separately when indicated.

2. Culture reflex: this is the complete urinalysis with the addition of a reflex to urine culture if any of 4 parameters are positive. Positive nitrite, positive leukocyte esterase, positive bacteria, and ≥5 WBC/HPF. This will maximize the sensitivity of detecting potentially positive urines associated with urinary tract infection (UTI).
