Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Plasma. Container/Tube: Green top (lithium heparin gel). Specimen Volume: 1 mL. Collection Instructions: 1. Plasma for a peak level must be drawn based on length of infusion time: infused for 60 minutes, draw within 1 hour after completion; infused for 90 minutes, draw within 1 hour after completion; and infused for 2 hours, draw within 30 minutes after completion. 2. Avoid hemolyzed, icteric, or lipemic specimen.
